Living in a world full of negatives, it’s always important to find the positive side of things. This, to me, is what this album is mainly about (um, hence the album title, for one, and also the song “Fourteen”). Other songs, though, are quite contradictory, seeming sad and depressed, such as “Zero,” and “It’s Over.” I really like the song, “Everything You Ever Wanted,” where the lyrics are open for interpretation to the listener (“I tried to be perfect, tried to be honest, I tried to be everything that you ever wanted”). I also like “The One Thing I Have Left,” which says “And you can take the one thing I have left, I'd give it all away for so much less… could even take the heart inside my chest… but you can't take who I am.” This album is full of catchy tunes, including the ever popular single, “Bring ‘Em Out.” I definitely recommend this CD to all Hawk Nelson fans (even though they most likely have it by now), and anyone who likes bands like Relient K. Plus, there’s a really awesome poster on the inside of the CD cover!
