I watched the show Rockstar: INXS thinking that Marty should’ve won, he definitely had it in him. He portrayed amazing talent, making it all the way to the final two, only beaten out by a former Elvis Impersonator, J.D. Fortune. Sometimes I think that somehow it’s a good thing Marty didn’t win Rockstar: INXS, because now, with the “Lovehammers”, the band he started at the age of only 14, he’s making his own music, which definitely suits him better. I still love his amazing song he wrote on Rockstar, “Trees,” with it’s cute lyrics, “It’ll be you and me up in the trees, and the forest will give us the answer./ It’ll be you and I up in the sky, it's a combination for disaster.” So far, most of the songs seem to have small range of emotion, none of them bright or cheerful, more so down and sad or serious, with the exception of “Trees” and “The Riddle”. I see it as a soundtrack for a fight scene in a movie with lyrics like “I feel the building of this anger, its rising up” in “Clinic”. Marty always gave a great and crowd pleasing performance on Rockstar, so I bet a concert by these guys would be exciting and entertaining.
