“Comatose.... I’ll never wake up without an overdose of you”

Wow. I’m not exactly sure where to start. Skillet’s new CD definitely has a track of amazing songs. This CD shows off their wide variety of music and their deep messages in the lyrics really stick with you. It proves that this album has not only great music, but also a purpose. Although, Skillet does a good job at delivering their message through the lyrics, some seem a little choppy, like in Comatose (Comatose, I’ll never wake up without an overdose of you). Great message in the lyrics of “Rebirthing” (“Rebirthing now, I wanna live my life, wanna give you everything, breathe for the first time now, I come alive somehow”). Definitely a great pick. My favourite songs are “Say Goodbye”, “Yours To Hold”, “The Older I Get”, and “Looking for Angels”. “Say Goodbye”, is a sad song about not wanting to leave a loved one (“I don't want to believe it's over... don't say goodbye, ‘cause I don't wanna hear those words tonight, ‘cause maybe it's not the end for you and I”). “Looking for Angels”, a song about finding hope and purpose, really makes you think about everything going on in this world, asking what we’ll do to make a difference, because we’re all a part of the mess and we can all be a part of the solution. “We want a reason to live.... ‘cause in our hearts and minds and souls we know, we need more than this... Going through this life looking for angels, people passing by looking for angels... What will you do to make a difference, to make a change?”. This album is a great mix of songs to help you cope with faith, growing up, heart break, standing up for what you believe in and helping others.
