“A girl like me, is just a little different from all the rest”
I bought this album in high hopes, expecting all the songs to be as good as “SOS”, “Kisses Don’t Lie”, and her earlier “Pon De Replay”, and I must admit that I had doubts, but they proved to be wrong. I really like what she’s done with Soft Cell’s original “Tainted Love”, to make her hit, “SOS”. I like the catchy beats and rhythms that stick in your head in “Kisses Don’t Lie”, “If It’s Lovin That You Want, Pt. 2” and “A Girl Like Me”, even though in the lyrics she seems to be a little full of herself at times. In “Unfaithful”, Rihanna demonstrates some really amazing singing talents, and I really hope that all of the story behind the lyrics, “ I don’t wanna be... a murderer” and “I might as well take a gun and put it to his head” is metaphorically speaking. Dwane Husbands, Sean Paul, J-Status and Cory Gunz all add their own special details to the songs, my personal favourite is “Break It Off” with Sean Paul. One last thing, you won’t want to listen to “SOS” for weeks if you listen to all of the remixes at once! This album album is full of hits, so don’t worry - if you don’t buy it, you’ll hear all the good songs on the radio and at dances.
