The main reason I watched Star Trek was to compare it to Star Wars. I mean you can’t fully say Star Wars is better than Star Trek when you’ve never seen Star Trek. That’s just not fair. So, I skipped the first movie, and went straight to The Wrath of Khan. Apparently it has more action that the first, making it a better introduction to the world of the Trekkies then the first would.
Now, if you do decide to watch this movie and have never seen a Star Trek film, let me just remind you that these films were made a while ago and so are therefore not as advanced in technology as we are used to. I mean, in quite a few scenes, they showed a painting as the background. I could tell because the waterfall wasn’t actually ‘falling’ and the stars and cosmos were not moving with the ship.
And, for those of you who look forward to hearing Spock say “live long a prosper,” you do have to wait a while.
So, the title of the film basically explains what the movie is about. Khan comes back to get revenge on Kirk. The movie follows from the original TV series episode "Space Seed" in which Khan and his followers were exiled by Kirk to the planet Ceti Alpha V.
For those of you that are squimish, there is a part where Khan and his team insert these ear worms into people’s ears in order to control them. The way to get these worms is to squeeze them out of some other creature’s shell.
