Wall∙eI left the theatre with a feel good feeling after having seen this movie.

Wall∙e is one of the surviving Waste Allocation Load Lifter-Earth-class robots on Earth. After the planet became to unsustainable for human life, they were sent off to space in the Axiom. It was the job of the robots to clean up the earth so that one day, the humans may return to their natural environment.

Aboard the Axiom, they have Extraterrestial Vegetation Evaluators, which they send out to scan the land for signs of life. This is how Wall∙e meets Eve. Eve finds a plant that Wall∙e had saved in his truck of valuables, and decides to give her. She goes into a sort of hibernation in order to await her return to the Axiom, with the plant safely kept inside her.

One day a ship comes to take the Extraterrestial Vegetation Evaluators back and Wall∙e hitches a ride on the side of the ship, as he has fallen for Eve and is not ready to let her go. He follows her through out the ship and they begin the adventure of letting the ship and it’s passengers know it is safe to return to the earth.

Since no one has been to earth for quite a while, they don’t know what it is, and that provides some laughs as the captain of the ship asks for descriptions of the things earth contains. However, the auto pilot of the Axiom believes he is in control and won’t let the plant be recognized so they can return. It becomes a battle between Wall∙e, Eve and the humans aboard vs. the Axiom’s auto pilot to get back.

Pixar really brings the robots to life, giving each one a unique personality. Many funny situations arise, and it is easy to relate to the robots, as they are human-like in nature. The concepts were very interesting and it’s a movie I would definitely recommend.
