Rumor Has ItI was looking forward to seeing this movie, in high hopes that it would provide some good laughs. I was not wrong, however, the outline of the film was, to me, disgusting. The only thing is, the disgusting elements of the film provided the humour. After watching the film, I was left feeling blank. I can’t say I really enjoyed watching it, nor can I say I really disliked it. Over all, I’d have to say it was a so-so movie.

Sarah Hunttinger, played by Jennifer Aniston, feels left out of her own family life, especially after her mother passed away, and is dreading attending her sister’s wedding. Upon arrival she conceives the idea that her family might be the one talked about in “The Graduate,” a popular, true novel (later a movie) about a mother who had an affair with a man that her daughter had an affair with after. Sarah believes that she is the love child of the daughter in the book. And so, she hunts down the man who likely slept with her mother and grandmother before her. Yes, she does meet Beau Burroughs, who in fact was the one to have slept with her family members and does the same with her as well. The only problem: Sarah has a very supportive fiancé, and when she doesn’t return from finding Beau, he sets out to find her. While Sarah's at a ball with Beau and is trying to determine whether or not she was this love child, Jeff, her fiancé, comes in to find her in a rather awkward situation: kissing Beau. Of course, he storms off and Sarah is left to figure out her life. Will she chose Beau, or Jeff? How will it work out? And the ending, I’ll let you know, is one that will most likely only come true in movies or fairy tales.

Kevin Costner, who plays Beau didn’t have a connection with any of his co-stars. All the other actors portrayed convincing characters, which lead to an almost believable story line.
