The Devil Wears PradaImagine what it would be like to enter into a world you know little or nothing about... How would it feel? What would you do?

This is what happens to Andrea (Andy) Sachs when she applies for a job as the assistant for a magazine editor. Miranda Priestly, a very well known and respected woman, is the editor of Runway. Runway is a popular fashion magazine and many, many girls would kill to have the job Andy applied for.

While at the interview, Andy feels as if she doesn’t belong at all. Though she’s very smart, she confesses that she doesn’t fit in: Not knowing a thing about fashion and not being thin or pretty. Andy had had enough so she walked out. Almost on her way out of the building, Emily, Miranda’s first assistant, comes running after her, telling her that Miranda wants to speak to her. Against all odds, Andy gets the job!

Though it is the dream job of many, it causes major problems in Andy’s work and home life. She doesn’t fit in at work and feels picked on, guessing it’s because of her lack of fashion sense, she changes her outlook. She gets a make over and puts her all into pleasing Miranda.

Now that she’s been accepted at her job, she struggles with her personal affairs. The job causes her to work late, causing her to miss important events in her life, such as her boyfriend’s birthday. Also, she meets another man who quite likes her and she is put in a position of choosing between these two men in her life. She’s become so good at her job that without realizing it, she threatens to take over Emily’s job, which may cause hard feelings. Working for Runway has transformed her into someone she’s not and that doesn’t go over well with her friends.

Will it take a business trip to Paris, France for fashion week for Andy to figure out what she really wants?

This movie is based on the novel by Lauren Weisberger.
